We believe it is our responsibility to foster a caring learning community that promotes a love of learning by focusing on the emotional, social, physical and intellectual growth of each student.
Research shows that a comprehensive approach to education is most effective when preparing students to be productive members of a global society. As elementary-school educators, we value the development of the whole child.
Why should you enroll your student at Seaton?
Kids are happy here!
In a 2013 districtwide Student Satisfaction Survey, Seaton was ranked in the top 10 schools. In 2014-15, more than 95% of PreK-3 to fifth-grade students in the afterschool program reported that they liked their afterschool activities.
Our students benefit from numerous partnerships and programs at Seaton, including playing soccer through DC SCORES, playing basketball, or participating in afterschool poetry club, Girls on the Run, Girl Scouts and Garden Club.
We’re on the rise.
In 2014-15, average writing scores increased from 1.52 to 3.16 on a four-point scale. We decreased the percentage of English-language learners who are far below benchmark by 17.6%, while 74% of students in second grade through fifth grade tested on i-Ready met or exceeded the expected growth target from the beginning of the year to the end of year.
We won funding through the 2015 Quality Schools Initiative to continue to close the achievement gap between English-language learners and native English speakers.
Our school is recently renovated, with new windows and an early childhood education playground.
We’re collaborative. Creative. Data-driven. Our teachers work to provide effective and differentiated instruction to all learners.
