Seaton Transportation Survey for Seaton @ K.C. Lewis

Seaton Families,

As part of our transition to the swing site at K.C. Lewis for the 2026–2027 school year, DCPS will provide student transportation to ensure that every Seaton student has safe and consistent access to Seaton @ K.C. Lewis through a comprehensive busing plan. We also recognize that some families may choose other forms of transportation.

This survey will support our school in planning morning and afternoon student bus assignments, as well as arrival and dismissal procedures for all students across all forms of transportation. Your responses will help guide bus assignments and ensure that our systems are safe, predictable, and aligned with your family’s needs.

We are committed to making the daily transportation experience joyful, consistent, and rooted in community. Our Seaton and K.C. Lewis bus stops (tentatively named “Bus Depots”) will have consistent arrival and dismissal procedures, clear bus signage, and assigned student buses.

Seaton Bus Depot: Corner of P Street NW and Shiloh Way NW (buses will pick up students along P Street NW)

K.C. Lewis Bus Depot: 300 Bryant Street NW

The survey will remain open through Monday, July 20, 2026, to ensure all families have an opportunity to submit their transportation preferences.

Survey Guidelines:

  • Please submit one survey per student. If you have more than one child attending Seaton, complete a separate survey for each student to ensure accurate bus assignments.
  • Complete the survey by the end of the day on Monday, July 20, 2026. This timeline will allow the Seaton team to analyze responses and build a transportation system that best meets the needs of our students and families.
  • The address for Seaton @ K.C. Lewis is 300 Bryant Street NW, Washington, DC.
  • Bus assignments will remain in place for the first half of the school year. Families will have an opportunity to adjust their transportation selection mid-year.

Bus Transportation Information Sessions + Parent Meetings:

Please join Principal Torres for transportation information sessions and opportunities to ask questions about the survey and transportation process during any of the following times:

  • June 5 during Multicultural Day – Bus Information Table in the Front Lobby from 4:00–5:30 PM
  • June 10 during the PTO Meeting from 5:30–6:30 PM
  • June 15 Virtual Parent Meeting from 5:30–6:30 PM (link will be shared closer to June 15). 

Bus transportation will be provided by Deadwyler Transportation. Each bus will include both a bus driver and a bus attendant. Students in PK3 and PK4 will also be provided with child safety seats.

Summer Communication: 

Students will be assigned a specific school bus schedule or transportation plan based on the responses submitted. These assignments will remain in place during the first half of the 2026–2027 school year. Final transportation schedules and times (determined by survey responses) will be emailed to families during the first week of August 2026.
