Community Cares Event.
Wednesday November 20 from 3:15PM to 4:30PM in the Seaton Playground. The Community Cares Committee will host the annual Bee Market and offer free Thanksgiving Turkeys, Food Items, Clothing, and Household items.
Term 1 Report Cards.
Families will receive Term 1 report cards sent home with students during the week of November 19. Additionally, report cards will be accessible through the Aspen Portal starting Tuesday, November 19. Seaton Aspen portal: https://dcps.dc.gov/page/parent-portal
Student Arrival.
All students and parents must use the main entrance to enter the school building safely. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade must use the cafeteria side door during arrival. All back and side doors remain closed during arrival to ensure student safety at all times.
Inner Core November Newsletter.

DCPS Budget Hearing.
DC Public Schools (DCPS) will convene a public budget hearing on Wednesday, November 20, at 6 p.m. The purpose of this virtual hearing is to gather input from families, staff, and the community to shape the upcoming Fiscal Year 2026 (School Year 2025-2026) budget. Safeway’s 25th Annual Feast of Sharing holiday celebration event. It will include coat giveaways, food giveaways, toiletries giveaways, free health screenings, and families can even sit down for a holiday meal. It will be at the Walter E. DCPS New Middle School
DCPS will open a new middle school in School Year 2028-2029 at 800 Euclid Street NW. Join us at the Shaw Library from 5-6:30pm on 12/3 to kick off public engagement on the academic vision for the new school! Register here: bit.ly/NewMS_Kick-Off
Middle School Survey.
DCPS will open a new middle school in August 2028! The new middle school will be located at 800 Euclid St NW. It will be a comprehensive neighborhood middle school with a boundary serving grades 6-8, and it will be the feeder middle school for Cleveland ES, Garrison ES, and Seaton ES. As DCPS plans for this important addition to our community, we want to ensure your voice is heard. DCPS invites you to participate in a brief survey to inform our initial engagement. School Safety Drills.
December Fire Drill. This drill takes place school wide. All students and staff evacuate the building to their secure location and return following the end of the fire drill.

Field Trips + Chaperones
Complete the Volunteer Clearance Process. Please note, all parents/guardians that would like to chaperone field trips, must complete the DCPS Clearance process before chaperoning a field trip. Once you have completed the clearance process, please share your approved clearance letter with Ms. Daisy (gloria.torrento@k12.dc.gov) or Ms. Hill (alicia.hill@k12.dc.gov), in the main office.
TB Test Site. The following are two places that provide free or low-cost TB tests for those who require a test based on their responses to the screening questions during the Clearance Process.
Site 1: Upper Cardozo Health Center, located at 3020 14th Street NW.
Site 2: DC Health and Wellness Center, located at 77 P Street NE.

Upcoming Events:
Wednesday, November 20th: Family potluck. Please bring a (nut free) dish to share. 5:30pm, Seaton cafeteria.
Tuesday, December 3rd: Giving Tuesday is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Please make plans to donate, share, and get a company match if your employer matches contributions. Our goal this year is $15,000 and we cannot do it without your help and support. Be on the lookout for a Seaton PTO Giving Tuesday toolkit that you can easily share on your social media accounts.
December 3: DCPS Euclid Middle School In-Person Engagement Kick-Off. Please join DCPS for an in-person Euclid MS kick-off event at Shaw Library! This open house will be an opportunity to speak directly with the DCPS team, learn about the new building, and give your input on the process. Kids are welcome! 5-6:30pm, Shaw Library
Wednesday, December 11th: December General Body PTO Meeting, 5:30pm. Pizza and childcare will be provided.
Friday, December 13th: Winter Wonderland Dance for 2nd-5th graders. 7-9pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
