Seaton Families,
At Seaton, one of our five core values is Growth! We define growth as: We, students and adults, work together, set academic and behavioral goals, remain open-minded, consider individual needs, and express our thoughts and emotions.
Last week, we gathered with each grade level to celebrate the amazing growth from the beginning to the middle of the year.
Students were so proud of their recognition and the work they have done so far this year! Students were celebrated for their growth in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social-Emotional Learning, attendance, demonstrating our school values, and so much more!
Thank you, families, for joining us during the Middle of the Year Awards celebrations last week. We look forward to continuing the celebrations with you at the End-of-the-Year Awards.

Seaton Modernization March 2026 Update
Thank you families for your feedback on the design of the new Seaton Building. The Seaton School Improvement Team (SIT) met on Tuesday, 2/24 to provide feedback on the schematic design for Seaton’s modernized building. The entire presentation can be viewed in English and Espanol.
Families can also read all Seaton Modernizations updates on the Seaton website: https://seatondc.org/swing-space-modernization/
The high-resolution site plans can also be downloaded here: Seaton ES Modernization Schematic Design Boards_bilingual.
Design Highlights:
- The design team noted the community’s preferences from the design phase back in the fall. The selected design includes new building addition along 10th street.
- The current plans include a PK3/4 wing, a courtyard design to provide privacy on the playground, retaining the entrance on Rhode Island Ave NW and the garden in its current space, and large gathering spaces that can be connected.
- Enrollment projections have also increased, so that the plans include 3 classrooms for all grades PK3-3rd, and 2 classrooms for grades 4 and 5.
