Welcome to June! As we approach the end of the school year, both students and staff are celebrating academic growth and gearing up for exciting events and opportunities to come together as a community. I am highlighting a few exciting updates from our school community:
DC Scores Service-Learning Project
Our school has united to take part in the Food Project. Watch the project, led by our 2nd-5th grade DC Scores team, here: DC Scores Food Project.
Grade 5 Embassy Adoption Model UN
Our 5th grade students participated in the Model United Nations competition, where they proudly represented our adopted embassy, Australia.
Math Competitions
Our upper elementary students competed in the Math Masters competition and earned a remarkable 4th place. The team will also be participating in upcoming math competitions at Google Headquarters.
Girls On the Run
Our Girls On the Run team completed their Spring 5K competition yesterday at Anacostia Park. A huge shout-out to the GOTR team members and coaches for their dedication and leadership throughout the Spring semester.

MULTICULTURAL DAY
Multicultural Day Celebration! Save the date, Multicultural Day will be Friday, June 6!
- PK3, PK4 and Kindergarten Program – 9:30am in the Cafeteria
- Grade 1 through Grade 5 Program – 1:30pm in the Cafeteria
- Festival – 3:30 to 5:30pm (Please come in through the Front Entrance. Doors will open following dismissal)
There will be No After School programming on Friday June 6 due to the Multicultural Day Festival.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Set Up June 6 – We’re looking for volunteers to help set up the cafeteria following breakfast to bring our celebration to life between 9:00 and 9:30am on Friday June 6.
Door Decorations – Additionally, teachers would love support decorating their classroom doors. If you’re interested in helping with a specific teacher’s door, please reach out to them directly. Volunteers can help decorate doors this week Tuesday and Wednesday.
Food Contributions – Food and drinks are a big part of our celebration, and we welcome food donations from any family for any classroom. You don’t need to bring food only to your child’s class.

Future of Seaton!

End of Year Celebrations – Save the Date!
End of year celebrations will take place from June 11 to June 16. Save the date and time for your specific grade level. PK3 and PK4 celebrations will take place in the Early Childhood classrooms. Kindergarten through Grade 4 celebrations will take place in the cafeteria.

Art Exhibit
Join us on Friday, June 6 from 3:30-5:30 in the Art Room (second floor) for the End-of-Year Art Exhibit! Stop by during Multicultural Day to see what Stinger Artists have been learning all year in Art. For Grades PreK-5th.

Library Books
Time to return Library Books. Please return all library books no later than June 2. We can accept overdue library books until June 20.

Enrollment SY 25-26
The Enrollment Process for SY25-26 is now open. Families can complete the Enrollment process Online or in Person. Check out the attached flyer to learn more about the documents needed to complete the enrollment process.
In Person enrollment is now available daily in the Seaton main office from March 31 to June 17 during the following hours:
- Monday to Fridays from 9:00AM to 11AM
- Monday to Fridays from 2:00PM to 3:30PM

SCHOOL POLICIES
School Safety Drills.
June Fire Drill. This drill takes place school wide. All students and staff evacuate the building to their secure location and return following the end of the fire drill.

PTO NEWS and UPDATES
Our final PTO meeting of the year is this Wednesday, June 4, from 5:30-6:30 in the library. It’s hard to believe another year is coming to an end. Join us to send off our fearless leader and outgoing PTO President Zandria Haines as she transitions back to regular parent. Come and welcome our new board, learn about all the PTO has accomplished this year, and hear about our budget and exciting plans for next year! It is our goal to make meetings accessible to all families, and we will have pizza and childcare for anybody who can make it. Volunteer for Field Day! Our last PTO event of the year, Field Day, is coming up on June 17. This was a huge hit last year, and we can’t wait to bring it back with more fun and games as we close out the school year. Please sign up here to volunteer for a shift! We are looking for help from 9-12 and from 12-3.

Please fill out our survey for a chance to win $50! The PTO has put together an end-of-year survey to get your feedback on how we can better serve you in the coming year. It takes 5-10 minutes to fill out and can be found here. As a bonus to thank you for the feedback, each participant who provides an email address will be entered to win a $50 gift card to Republic Cantina. The survey is open through June 16 and can also be filled out anonymously.
