Seaton Families,
We are so excited to welcome you to Seaton @ K.C. Lewis! This will be our home for the next two school years. Seaton teachers and staff worked hard all week to prepare our new space and get ready to welcome students and families for the first day of school. We can’t wait to make this space feel like our Seaton home!
To help make our new space feel like home, we invite each family to bring or send in a family photo. We will display the photos in our front lobby to create our Seaton Family Bee-Hive Collage and celebrate the people who make up our school community. Families can send a photo to school with their student at any time throughout the school year.

First Day of School Logistics K-5
Arrival: Students may arrive as early as 8:15 a.m. each day for breakfast. The instructional day begins promptly at 8:40 a.m.
Arrival Location for Monday, August 24: Grade-level teachers will meet students and families on the Seaton @ K.C. Lewis playground from 8:15–8:30 a.m. Please see the visual below for the location of each homeroom class. Carts will be available for families to drop off student supplies. Seaton staff members will then deliver the supplies to students’ classrooms.

Arrival Logistics Beginning August 25
Arrival Location Beginning Tuesday, August 25: Students will enter through the cafeteria doors and go directly to their assigned grade-level breakfast table. Each grade level will have a designated section of the cafeteria. Grade 5 students will eat breakfast in the front lobby breakfast tables.

Daily Dismissal Locations
Daily Dismissal Location: Students will dismiss from the Seaton @ K.C. Lewis playground at the grade-level locations shown below. Families may enter the playground through the marked gate from 3:15–3:30 p.m.

Parking: Parking for families is available on the streets surrounding Seaton @ K.C. Lewis. We recommend that families park along 2nd Street. The area directly in front of Seaton will be reserved for Seaton Bus Transportation and OSSE Bus Transportation. Please be mindful of all posted signs and reserved bus areas when parking.
Student Bus Transportation: Please reach out to Ms. Molly at molly.mckenna@k12.dc.gov with any questions about Seaton Bus Transportation. Ms. Molly can support families with making changes to their selected bus times and confirming student bus assignments and rosters.

K-5 After School
After-school programming for Grades K-5 will begin on the first day of school, Monday, August 24.
PK3 and PK4 After School Program
After-school programming for PK3 and PK4 will begin on their first day of school, Thursday, August 27.
Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge to all Seaton students. Families might have received a letter from DCPS requesting an application for Free and Reduced Lunch for your student. This request does not apply to families at Seaton.

All families have now received their teacher assignment emails. If you have not received an email or if you recently enrolled with us, please reach out to Ms. Daisy at gloria.torrento@k12.dc.gov with any questions.
Seaton School Uniforms Information
We are proud to have a flexible school uniform that supports a sense of discipline and self-respect, enables students to concentrate on learning, and reduces peer pressure.
All Seaton students are expected to come to school daily wearing a uniform. PK3 to 5th grade students should come dressed in white tops or navy bottoms.
- Tops: white polo shirts, white shirts, or any Seaton logo t-shirt.
- Bottoms: dark blue bottoms, shorts, skirts, or jumpers (below the knee).
- Footwear: any closed-toe shoes for safety reasons.

Seaton will host visits to ECE classrooms before the first day of school for ECE families.

Back to School Nights
Join us for Back to School Nights! Come and visit the new Seaton @KC Lewis building spaces and classrooms!
– Wednesday September 16 – Grades PK3, PK4, Kindergarten, and Grade 1. Time: 5:30 to 6:30PM.
– Thursday September 17 – Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, and Grade 5. Time: 5:30 to 6:30PM.
