If the start of the school year has you wondering how you might support our Seaton students, teachers have a few ideas.
Since 2009, they have used DonorsChoose.org, a site that connects classroom projects with donations, to raise more than $30,000.
At the moment, five Seaton teachers have six projects in the works:
Ms. Akinyeye: A couch and seating for their classroom library.
Ms. Brown: Sensory basics for an autism classroom, such as Bean Bob chairs, water beads and therapeutic sand.
Ms. Burkett: Privacy partitions, Time For Kids Magazines and Scholastic News Magazines to support literacy.
Ms. McCan: Dramatic play materials and multilingual books that reflect a variety of cultures.
Ms. Van Dyke: A kitchen play set as well as a table and chair set for their home living center and a large carpet for the middle of the classroom where they can meet for whole-group activities.
