SEATON’S ARTWORK WILL BE EXHIBITED
JOIN US! YOU ARE ALL INVITED!
Seaton Elementary’s fifth-graders will join the Ecologic Institute in the celebration of Earth Day on April 22. The event will begin at 5 p.m., with the fifth-graders sharing six large-scale collaborative multimedia works of art, in the style of the Aboriginal artists of Australia. The style underscores the foundational role nature plays in how we communicate. Using Aboriginal iconography to convey simple statements, the artistic interpretation of the symbols offers a new level of expression, showing nature’s ability to transcend cultural constructs through art. We would like for you to join us for this exciting event to honor the present, and inspire the future of environmentalism at the Hillyer Art Space, 9 Hillyer Court NW, located behind the Phillips Collection. Through the lens of children, these works of art will surely inform the public dialogue about art and our environment.
