D.C. Public School in the Historic Shaw Neighborhood
Seaton Elementary is a small community-based school in the Shaw neighborhood. We offer students a warm and loving learning environment. Our students discover their potential and embrace new experiences. We are committed to providing high-quality academic instruction and cultural experiences that enhance student development.
Seaton is relocating for 2 years beginning in 2026 to allow for the school’s modernization. DC is also in the process of standing up a new middle school for Seaton families. Catch up on both developments below.
At Seaton, we embrace our diversity, foster an inclusive environment, develop students’ cross-cultural understanding, and work to eliminate structural inequities that limit equitable learning opportunities. We promote an academically enriching and socially supportive community where students can grow and develop the tools and mindsets necessary to thrive as lifelong learners. We work as equal partners with families to build a foundation of trust so our students are supported emotionally and academically.
